3.One Day Seminar State of Primary Education in Pakistan
Primary Education is one of the four sectors addressed under Social Action programme (SAP), which is being implemented by the Government since 1992. The other sectors are primary health, rural water supply and sanitation and population welfare.
In the Primary Education Sector, SAP is aimed at improving enrollment (especially of girls), the quality of education, and promoting the involvement of the private sector and community in organization and delivery of services. The successive Government in power in Pakistan has persistently strived to provide education to every child in the country. There is no doubt that as a result of planned efforts some positive development have taken place in the field of education in Pakistan but the progress in the field of primary education and literacy is far from being satisfactory. Today, in South Asian Region, Pakistan has a very high rate of illiteracy. This situation cannot be tolerated furthermore because it is education and education alone upon which nation’s very survival exists. The SUBAH Quetta decided to hold a symposium on primary education with representation of all the key stake holders. The objective was to deliberate on the critical sect oral aspects and to identify areas were priority intervention was needed under SAP. In particular, the symposium was aimed at
keeping in view the importance of issues, Subah Quetta hold a one day seminar on the topic from its own resources at Mahec Helping Council New Algillani Road Quetta on 10th-April,2000. The numbers of beneficiaries were 34
4-(3-MONTHS TRAINING FOR MID-WIVES)
It is a admitted fact that with the exception of big cities the birth cases in the country and especially in Balochistan are handled by common mid-wives who have very little knowledge and cannot control if anything happens beyond their knowledge. To improve the situation and to provide safe and healthy services to the needy persons (women fold) Subah Quetta arranged to train the mid-wives on modern lines
The above mentioned training is conducted by Subah Quetta with the help
Of Mahec Helping Council Quetta on Ist-May 2000 to 30th-July, 2000. The numbers of beneficiaries were 22.
5.One day Seminar on Role of NGOs in Primary Education
There is no institutional mechanism to learn from the successful NGO initiatives involving the community, which have been undertaken both within the country and abroad. In particular, there are large-scale efforts to promote primary education through Government-NGO-community partnership, from which lessons learned can be usefully drawn by the other provinces / areas.
There is no government support to the successful initiatives of smaller NGOs this support may be crucial for the sustainability of their programmes.
The criterion for collaboration with NGO needs to be clearly defined, to facilitate NGO involvement with the government for promotion of Basic Primary Education. The government, under such collaboration, should assume the main responsibility for programme implementation and the NGOs should act as facilitators
The seminar was held at Subah School of Arts (Jinnah Grammar School ) Bang low No 296-P Satellite Town Block V New Quetta on Ist-November, 2000. The numbers of stake holders were 32, the participants in the seminar came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives.
The central aim of the seminar was to highlight critical issues on Role of NGOs in Primary Education and to elicit recommendations which could later be used for policy and institutional reforms. In all, 13 technical papers were presented. The issues highlighted and the recommendations made in the seminar are presented in the form of report, which is structured as follows:-
The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
6.ONE DAY SEMINAR ON USE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION FOR TEACHER TRAINING
Distance education is an effective way of training teachers. Distance education methods employ print, audio, or visual media to communicate with students without the direct presence of the teacher. These methods are most appropriate when one or more of the following conditions hold:-
The seminar was held at Subah School of Arts (Jinnah Grammar School) Bang low No 296-P Satellite Town Block V New Quetta on2rd-March, 2001. The numbers of stake holders were 30; the participants in the seminar came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
7.SEMINAR ON PROBLEM OF EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION IN PAKISTAN
Three broad tasks have been proposed to improve the capacity of countries to manage their education system. These are:-
Unfortunately we have few guidelines for these proposed changes. Almost no
Research has been done on the organizational, personnel, or informational capacities of ministry of education.
In order to highlight the actual education administration problems in Pakistan SUBAH Quetta hold a one day seminar at Subah School of Arts ( Jinnah Grammar School ) Bang low No 296-P Satellite Town Block V New Quetta on 2nd-December, 2001. The numbers of stake holders were 40; the participants in the seminar came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.

During survey team observed that the education facilities offered by jail
Administration is not good enough to meet the actual requirement of prisoners especially in central jails where numbers of prisoners were 1000. Keeping in view the urgency and importance Subah Quetta hold a one day seminar and invited all the stake holder to discuss the problem and suggest measures thereof. The seminar was held at Central Jail much on 10th-March, 2002and Number of stakeholder were 112. The seminar was hold by Subah Quetta from its own resources.
9.SEMINAR ON IMPORTANCE OF SCHOOL–COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS
Educators often emphasize the importance of good relationships between school and community. And it is true that no studies on this important topic were held. So keeping in view the importance of issues Subah Quetta hold a one day seminar on the topic from its own resources in order to highlight the issue at Subah School of Arts ( Jinnah Grammar School ) Bang low No 296-P Satellite Town Block V New Quetta on Ist-September, 2002. The numbers of stake holders were 40; the participants in the workshop came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
10.ONE DAY SEMINAR ON IMPORTANCE OF TEXTBOOKS
Textbooks are the most common type of instructional material used in schools, especially at the primary level. The importance of textbooks can be attributed to several factors:-
Research shows that students with textbooks learn more than those without, holding teaching quality and student abilities constant.
keeping in view the importance of issues Subah Quetta hold a one day seminar on the topic from its own resources at Mahec Helping Council New Algillani Road Quetta on 10th-August,2003. The numbers of beneficiaries were 58.
Many countries including Pakistan largely depend on loans or grants from international assistance agencies to fund new programs in education. But experience shows that many externally-funded projects fail to reach their objectives. Many projects that are actually implemented fail when external funding ends. There are several reasons why this happens.
keeping in view the importance of issues Subah Quetta hold a one day seminar on the topic from its own resources at Mahec Helping Council New Algillani Road Quetta on 12th-December,2003. The numbers of beneficiaries were 30.
12.WORKSHOP ON COMMON FEATURES OF EFFECTIVE SCHOOLS
A guiding philosophy that provides a framework for all the activities of the school. This philosophy can be understood as a vision, as a set of guiding principles, as a “mission statement.” It should talk about fundamental changes in the school, not marginal adjustments or refinements.
On this important issue Subah Quetta was arranged a one day workshop on Ist-April,2004 at Mahec Helping Council New Algilani Road Quetta. The numbers of stake holder's were34, the participants in the workshop came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
13.ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
The concept of classroom management considers the teacher as a producer of learning. The amount and quality of learning that is generated depends on the ability of the teacher to use effectively the resources available, and to affect the behavior of students. The resources include physical facilities, instructional material, equipment, and time. Increased spending on facilities, equipment, or material may have little impact on learning outcomes if teachers are not trained in how to use them effectively.
On this important issue Subah Quetta was arranged a one day workshop on 10th-August, 2004 at Mahec Helping Council New Algillani Road Quetta. The numbers of stake holders were 37; the participants in the workshop came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
14.ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON STUDENT DISCIPLINE.
There is little systematic research on the relative effects of different patterns of students’ discipline. On the other hand, there is wide spread agreement that an orderly atmosphere is necessary in schools for effective teaching and learning to take place. Lack of student discipline has been associated with poor class management by teachers and poor school administration. A study of student discipline in the Congo cites teacher incompetence and overcrowded classroom as causes of student misconduct. In fact lack of discipline reduces time on task.
In order to highlight the issue SUBAH Quetta hold a one day workshop at Subah School of Arts ( Jinnah Grammar School ) Bang low No 296-P Satellite Town Block V New Quetta on 25th-November, 2004. The numbers of stake holders were 40; the participants in the workshop came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
15.THREE DAYS WORKSHOP ON EDUCATION FOR ALL.
Education in general and Education for All in particular, is one of the top priorities of Government of Pakistan. The Pakistan has ten year Perspective Development Plan (2001-11) to visualize the long term macro-economic and sect oral growth strategies. Poverty Reduction and Human Development is the priority area of the plan. Sector-wide development approach covering all the sectors of education has been adopted under the Perspective Plan. In order to address the EFA implications linkage plan focusing on development of other sectors of Education has also been prepared.
It has been realized at all levels that preparation and implementation of an Education for All plan is the sine-qua/non for effectively reaching and monitoring the EFA goals. In order to honor the international commitment reflected in the Dakar Framework for Action, EFA National Plan of Action (NPA) has been developed through broad based consultations with principal actors of EFA and stakeholders. In order to translate the Education Policy (1998-2010) into action plan, Education Sector Reform (2001-2005) which is an action plan was developed. Education Sector Reform (ESR) aimed at the development of education sector as a whole, with a special focus on EFA, served as foundation of the NPA.
In order to facilitate the Government towards successful attainment of EFA objectives and goals and convey the basic theme of comprehensive national education plan to the masses of country SUBAH Quetta hold a three days workshop at Subah School of Arts ( Jinnah Grammar School ) Bang low No 296-P Satellite Town Block V New Quetta on Ist-April, 2005 To 3rd-April,2005. The numbers of stake holders were 125; the participants in the workshop came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
If Education is the means to attain humanity and if it is the natural right of all human beings to be educated, I cannot understand on what plea women can be deprived of this right. (RABINDRANATH TAGORE)
To educate a girl is to educate a whole family, and what is true of families is also true of communities and, ultimately, whole countries. Study after study has taught us that
there is no tool for development more effective than the education of girls. Two of the millennium development goals agreed by all the world’s countries as a blueprint for building a better world in the 21ist century are focused on education for girls and boys alike. In Pakistan girls enrolment in education institutions were very low as compared to boys, in order to know the basic reasons for this phenomenon , SUBAH Quetta hold a one day workshop at Subah School of Arts ( Jinnah Grammar School ) Bang low No 296-P Satellite Town Block V New Quetta on Ist-December, 2005. The numbers of stake holders were 35; the participants in the workshop came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The workshop was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
17-(10-DAYS TRAINING OF NEWLY RECRUITED STAFF)

18.SIX DAYS TRAINING ON LIFE SKILLS BASED EDUCATION FOR PSYCHOSOCIAL COMPETENCE
Balochistan which is considered as the less developed province of the country. The province has limited literacy rate as compare to the rest of the country .The health indicators are also very alarming, the figures reveal that Balochistan has the worst health indicators and that resulted to high maternal and infant mortality rates.
The worst situation of low literacy and high fertility rates ,early marriages , malnutrition , gender inequalities and poor health is the result of poverty, strong tribal norm, scattered population, internal tribal conflicts, nonexistence of leadership , and resistance over the movement of women, denial to women right, Women are not part of decision making, they are even not ask for the number of children .The women living in this part of the country are not aware of their basic rights they understand by getting the food and cloths is the fulfillment of their basic right from the male dominant society.
The adolescence and children are less motivated for their proper formal regular education and also limited in the development of their skills especially the leadership qualities. The elders focus their adolescence and children to be their followers and are set them to be familiar with in practical the tribal norm, tribal attitudes and cultures.
The strategy adopted in this regard is to empower the adolescents on Life Skills Based Education and Prevention of HIV/AIDS. The targeted adolescents group would be the in school and colleges of the district. The stake holders from the education department were involved in the training activities. The out school adolescents were also involved in the awareness activities of LSBE and HIV/AIDS prevention so that they could adopt healthy life styles.
INTRODUCTION TO LIFE SKILLS FOR PSYCHOSOCIAL COMPETENCE
Promoting Psychosocial Competence
Psychosocial competence is a person’s ability to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. It is a person’s ability to maintain a state of mental well-being and to demonstrate this in adaptive and positive behavior while interacting with others, his/her culture and environment.
Psychosocial competence has an important role to play in the promotion of health in its broadest sense; in term of physical, mental and social well-being. In particular, where health problems are related to behavior, and where the behavior is related to an inability to deal effectively with stresses and pressures in life, the enhancement of psychosocial competence could make an important contribution. This is especially important for health promotion at a time when behavior is more and implicated as the source of health problems.
The most direct interventions for the promotion of psychosocial competence are those which enhance the person’s coping resources, and personal and social competencies. In school-based programmes for children and adolescents, this can be done by the teaching of life skills in a supportive learning environment.
Defining Life Skills
Life skills are abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
Described in this way, skills that can be said to be life skills are innumerable, and the nature and definition of life skills are likely to differ across cultures and settings. However, analysis of the life skills field suggests that there is a core set of skills that are the heart of skills-based initiatives for the promotion of the health and well-being of children and adolescents. These are listed below:
SUBAH Quetta in realizing the need of the community especially the empowerment of adolescence for enhancing their skills in providing them the training of LSBE and HIV/AIDS prevention and develop their leadership capacities as a change agent .The LSBE training was enable the adolescence to be self-reliant and make their own decision and above than all to act as catalyst for a positive change in the behavior .The training was also contributed to bring positive change in their attitudes and behavior towards the involvement of women in decision making and also work for the betterment of their communities with in the tribal norms on sustainable basis., SUBAH Quetta hold a Six days training at Subah School of Arts ( Jinnah Grammar School ) Bang low No 296-P Satellite Town Block V New Quetta on Ist-March, 2006 to 6th-March,2006. The numbers of stake holders were 55; the participants in the workshop came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The workshop was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
19(2-Days Seminar on Development and Protection to All Devolution and Development
Most social, economic and political problems that Pakistan has faced since independence stemmed primarily from a centralized state structure and non-participatory decision-making process. Policy maker remained cut off from ground realities and pandered to their own whims and wishes. Even many well intentioned development initiatives failed to achieve desired results, as they did not take into account local realities. The needs and aspirations of the people never featured in those grand schemes ostensibly developed to lift the country out of poverty and backwardness. A sizable number of people are still not able to benefit from basic services such as healthcare, education and safe water. It is extremely important that all the relevant groups understand their roles and responsibilities and that they have the capacity to be able to fulfill that role effectively for ensuring development and protection for all. Recognizing that the newly established local-government system can play a critical role in promoting and securing the rights of children, women and other vulnerable groups, the organization is committed to playing its role in strengthening the process of devolution and decentralization.
In order to highlight the merits and importance of new Local-government system SUBAH Quetta hold a Two days seminar at Subah Office flat No-5 New Model Town Opposite A.G Balochistan Quetta Cantt on Ist-September, 2006. The numbers of stake holders were 45; the participants in the seminar came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
Subah Quetta Established a Homoeopathic Medical Clinic at Faqir Mohammad Road near Iqra City to provide homoeopathic medical treatment to the poor folks of the area on nominal fee. At Present a qualified Part time Dr. Aqueel Ahmed Qureshi DHMS (R.M.P) has been posted to run the clinic. The Population of Faqir Mohammad Road is near about 12000 and there is no recognized Hospital Government or private available in the area only few private medical clinics were available and their fee and medicines were out of the reach of poor men. Subah Quetta realizes the needs of the poor community of Faqir Mohammad Road and took the challenge and established welfare Medical Clinic for the poor community. There is no Inspection fee of Doctor only cost of medicines was charged. Subah Quetta is planning for posting of a Female/Lady Doctor, LHV and TBA at the center and it is planned that during the year 2009 all the necessary facilities were provided free of cost
21.One Day Seminar on Survey of Status of Women Employment in Balochistan.
Data regarding the male and female Government officers working in the government departments, autonomous bodies and institutions, was collected and analyzed. In addition, details of the female candidates recommended for appointment by the Balochistan Public Service Commission during the period 2000 to 2005 were collected. Forty individuals were interviewed and preliminary findings were presented before a stakeholder workshop. The study involved detailed questions asked from the respondents to collect information on employment, job description, qualification background, training, transfer, transportation, mobility, promotions, quota, working environment and conditions, career planning and sexual harassment. The government employees were selected in such a way to ensure the representation of the various level of BPS. The respondents from other institutions like academic, NGOs and autonomous organization have been selected who have common interest in women’s development issues. The role of private sector is negligible in Balochistan in generation of employment in general and for women in particular. Similarly there are not many corporations working in Balochistan. Towns in Balochistan are not bigger than villages in Punjab and Sindh provinces but due to tribal setup women do not come forward to work in offices and small towns except for women specific jobs, which is often limited to health and education sectors. Women do not feel safe and secure to work in the interior of Balochistan.
The central aim of the seminar was to highlight critical issues and problems facing by service women in Balochistan to elicit recommendations which could later be used for policy and institutional reforms. The issues highlighted and the recommendations made in the seminar are presented in the form of report. The seminar was held at Subah Office flat No-5 New Model Town Opposite A.G Balochistan Quetta Cantt on 10th-August, 2006. The numbers of stake holders were 40; the participants in the seminar came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
By adopting the convention on the rights of the child, the United Nations General Assembly recognized that children have needs and human rights which extend far beyond basic concepts of protection. After 10 years of often intricate negotiation, the Nations of the world endorsed a document covering civil, economic, social, cultural and political rights for children and accepted a challenge to translate them into national action. Convention has been variously described as a Magna-Carta’ or bill of rights for children. It has 54 articles detailing the individual rights of any person under 18 years of age to develop to his or her full potential, free from hunger and want, neglect, exploitation, or other abuses.
In order to facilitate the Government towards successful attainment of CRC Objectives and goals and convey the basic contents and theme of UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to the masses of Province SUBAH Quetta hold a One day seminar at Subah Office flat No-5 New Model Town Opposite A.G Balochistan Quetta Cantt on Ist-October, 2006. 24.(5-Days Training On Building Protective Environment for Children and Adolescents in Balochistan
Balochistan as one of the provinces of Pakistan falls in south Asia region. In this region reusable and nationwide data is available for very few forms of violence against children. All dimensions of violence in different settings have not been studied comprehensively. Certain areas have been better covered than others, albeit assessments as to what areas are more researched than others are essentially a subjective view: each actor believes that his focus area is less researched. Available information tends to be limited in scope in terms of geographical areas covered and sample size-Estimating of changing trends is difficult because the studies are either occasional or provide anecdotal information. Crime related data being compiled in all countries although limited to repeated cases provides some information on violence against children but the level of desegregations is uneven. Increased crime statistics signify higher awareness levels with lower thresholds for reporting rather than increases prevalence. Mandatory reporting is not common in the region. Pakistan currently has the largest cohort of young people in its history (25 million aged 15-24), and subsequent cohorts are projected to be even larger. Young people face a number of critical life decisions between the ages of 15 and 24 that relate to a series of transitions to adulthood: school-leaving, employment, greater responsibility for oneself and family, choosing a spouse, and beginning a family. However, little is known about how time is spent and how decisions are made at those ages. Given the lack of systematically collected data, any comment on the situation and trend on violence against children in Balochistan need to be made with great caution. Nonetheless, available researches, assessments and surveys suggest that children in Balochistan are at risk of many forms of violence in different context and settings. There is also lack of comprehensive knowledge about interventions that work well in the Balochistan context.
Keeping in view that sensitiveness and urgency of issues Subah Quetta arranged a five days training on the manual for training of trainers of civil society organizations on child protection issues framed by Unicef and Social welfare department Government of Balochistan. 25.One Day Workshop on Child Legislation in Pakistan
The future of mankind and civilization lies in our children. Their protection from physical and social hazards is a pre-requisite for proper development of children to ensure future progress and prosperity of mankind. Legislation is one of the vital instruments for deterring the elements leading to violation of children’s rights and threatening survival, protection and development of children. It can be used as an effective vehicle for promoting social stability, promote social reforms and through the process of law, secure the wellbeing of children. There are a number of legislation for children enacted in Pakistan to curb the elements thwarting survival and development of children in fulfillment of its obligations as a civilized and Islamic Republic. Pakistan has also ratified the UN Convention on the rights of the child and in addition, Pakistan is also a signatory to the World Declaration on Survival, Protection and Development of children, adopted at the World summit on Children held in New York in September, 1990.
In pursuance of the above, efforts need to be fortified to promote advocacy and awareness in the society about the needs and rights of children and promote their knowledge about legal protection available for children. It was with this objective in view that the Subah Quetta undertook a One Day workshop on the existing legislation regarding children at Subah Grammar School Banglow No 237, AB Block No III, Sibi road Satellite Town Quetta on11th-May, 2007. The numbers of stake holders were 36; the participants in the Workshop came from a wide range of stake holding including Advocates, students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Workshop was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
26.One Day Seminar on the State of the Balochistan Children
In the Millennium Declaration of September 2000, Member States of the United Nations made a most passionate commitment to address the crippling poverty and multiplying misery that grip many areas of the globe. Governments set a date of 2015 by which they would meet the Millennium Development Goals: eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, achieve universal primary education, promote gender equality and empower women, reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, combat HIV / AIDs, Malaria and other diseases, ensure environmental sustainability, and develop a global partnership for development.
In order to study and analyzed the projections of the Millennium Development Goals and impact of failure on the children of Balochistan , and convey to the masses of Province SUBAH Quetta hold a One day seminar at Subah Office flat No-5 New Model Town Opposite A.G Balochistan Quetta Cantt on Ist-June, 2007. The numbers of stake holders were 27; the participants in the seminar came from a wide range of stake holding including students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
AIDS has been a focus of international concern for more than two decades. Yet its impact on children has been little considered. The number of children affected was not even counted unit recently. One of the first global estimates of the number of children who had lost or both parents of HIV /AIDs appeared in 1997. In September 2003, 39 percent of countries with generalized epidemics still had no national policy in place to provide essential support to children orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV /AIDS. Children are missing from the HIV /AIDS picture in many different ways:-
Yet the needs of children are being overlooked when strategies on HIV prevention
And treatment are drafted, policies made and budgets allocated and investment in prevention continue to be pitifully inadequate. A generation of children and adolescents has never known a world free of HIV and AIDS. They will soon inherit the burden of fighting the disease. Although they are most vulnerable to infection, they are more likely than adults to change their behavior. Yet very few of them know what to do to avoid the disease. If they did, they could be full partner in the fight to stop it.
In order to break the silence, educate and inform, and end ignorance and fear, prevent prejudice, discrimination and stigma, to take mobilize action and to create a parliamentary focal point for HIV / AIDS, SUBAH Quetta hold a One Day seminar at Subah Office flat No-5 New Model Town Opposite A.G Balochistan Quetta Cantt on 16th-August, 2007. The numbers of stake holders were 45; the participants in the seminar came from a wide range of stake holding including Doctors, Advocates, students, teacher, community, NGO representatives, educationists, public servants and private sector representatives. The Seminar was hold by SUBAH Quetta from its own resources.
One Day Workshop on Counseling for HIV /AIDS
Ever since the beginning of AIDS epidemic in 1981, the number of people infected and affected by HIV /AIDS is on the rise. During the course of infection, a broad range of physical, social and psychological needs and problems is experienced. Changing nature of the illness imposes a variety of psychological and emotional strains on individuals and those closest to them. Taking into account the dilemmas associated with it, the effects of HIV epidemic are enormous. AIDS in fact, is seen more as a psychosocial phenomenon than a disease. HIV /AIDS counseling assists people to make informed decisions, cope better with their condition, lead more positive lives, and prevent HIV transmission. HIV/AIDS counseling is important because infection with HIV is lifelong. Role of counseling in HIV/AIDS is perhaps more important than in any other disease. Existence of standard guidelines for the people involved in HIV/AIDS prevention and control activities ensures that all efforts being made for the purpose are well coordinated and in right direction. Purpose of the counseling guidelines is to provide an in-depth knowledge on the subject to the clinicians, laboratory professionals, psychiatrists and the social workers, both in the public as well as private sectors, that would help them to manage HIV/AIDS and prevent its further spread.
In order to impart the basic contents of effective counseling to the concerned professionals SUBAH Quetta hold a One day seminar at undertook a One Day Seminar at Subah Grammar School Bang low No 237, AB Block No III, Sibi road Satellite Town Quetta on Ist-November, 2007. Our children are without doubt, the most precious of all the nations’ treasures; for they are our hopes, our dreams and our future. Right to a healthy existence is among the most basic of all child rights. The rights of a child as finalized in Convention on the Rights of the Child to which Pakistan is a signatory states that the state must “recognize the Rights of the child to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health and to facilities for the treatment of illness and rehabilitation of health” and that the state “shall strive to ensure that no child is deprived of his or her right of access to such health care services”. While the overall National Health Policy recognize the importance of National Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and lists it as one of the key areas of health care delivery system, the fact that the target of the programme are the children and their mothers. The Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) was launched in 1978. It aims at protecting children by immunizing them against childhood Tuberculosis, Poliomyelitis, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Hepatitis B and Measles.
The overall objectives of EPI were Reduction of Mortality and morbidity resulting from the EPI target diseases by immunizing less than one year and pregnant women. The specific objectives were interruption of polio virus by 2005, Elimination of Neo-natal tetanus by 2010, Reduction of measles mortality by 95 % and measles morbidity by 90 % by 2011, control of other diseases by introducing new vaccines in EPI as and when they are available using EPI as a spearhead for promoting other PHC activities and finally integrating EPI into primary health care. The need for a document that gives clear policy directions on all aspects of programme management and guidelines on service delivery was compiled and reviewed by federal EPI cell.
In order to impart basic contents of National EPI policy, efforts need to be fortified to promote awareness in the society about the importance and impact of policy and promote knowledge It was with this objective in view that the Subah Quetta hold a One Day workshop on the subject at Subah Grammar School Banglow No 237, AB Block No III, Sibi road Satellite Town Quetta on 5th-January, 2008. World mother’s Day 2008 would be celebrated throughout the world including Pakistan on Sunday May 11 in order to honor the Mothers. Although the dates and months of celebrating this day might differ from country to country, still the occasion holds equally great significance for each one.
Mother’s Day is the day devoted to all the mothers in the world and hence it is perfect time when we can express our tender love and care for our mothers, for their friendly gestures and warm hugs that they have showered upon us.
The Mother’s Day was first proclaimed in 1870 in the United States and it was Julia Ward Howe who proclaimed the same in Boston. Howe also called for it to be observed each year at the National level in 1872.
In fact the original idea behind Howe's "Mother’s Day" was a call for pacifism and disarmament by all the women. Women's peace groups mostly marked early "Mother's Day". At the early times it was a common activity to have the meeting of groups of mothers and in such meetings those mothers were supposed to participate whose sons had fought or died on opposite sides of the American Civil War.
Later Anna Jarvis in Grafton West Virginia, to commemorate the anniversary of her mother’s death two years earlier on 9th-May, 1905, first celebrated Mother’s Day in 1907 in a small private way. Jarvis's mother, whose name was also Anna Jarvis, was an active participant in the Mother’s Day Campaigns.
Keeping in view the importance of the day Subah Quetta holds a Seminar to celebrate the day and pay homage to mothers. The seminar was held at Subah Grammar School Bang low No 237, AB Block No III, Sibi road Satellite Town Quetta on Sunday 11th-May,2008.
10 male and 25 female participants were attended the seminar and Mrs. Rukhsana Fahim was the anchor person.

Our Earth is now home to over 6.6 billion people. This year 73 million people will be added to the planet, and the year 2050 Ninety Nine percent of that growth will occur in developing countries where two in three people lack access to clean drinking water.
In 1968, the world leaders proclaimed that individuals have a basic human right to determine freely and responsibly the number and spacing of their children. Forty years later, contraception and family planning information still remain out of the reach of hundreds of millions of women, both old and young. Now the question in 2008, four decades later, how is the right being promoted in our country? This year's World Population Day reaffirms the right of the people to plan their families. It encourages activities events and information that will help make the right real especially for those who often have the hardest time getting the information and services they need to plan their families, such as marginalized populations and young people. When people can plan their families, they can plan their lives. Smoking cigarettes is like paying to have your life cut shorter-the most foolish thing anyone can ever do. Protecting children from tobacco industry interference Every year, on 31 May, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners celebrate World No Tobacco Day. Protecting children from tobacco industry interference
Every year, on 31 May, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners celebrate World No Tobacco Day.
World No Tobacco Day 2024, under the theme “Protecting children from tobacco industry interference,” will give a platform to young people across the world, who are calling for the tobacco industry to stop targeting them with products that are harmful to their health.
Young people globally are calling on governments to adopt policies that shield them from the manipulative practices of tobacco and related industries, including the relentless marketing of their dangerous products through social media and streaming platforms.
Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first. The United Nations General Assembly, in 2012, instituted the inaugural Global Day of Parents, a worldwide celebration held annually on June 1st to honor and pay tribute to parents around the globe. Parenthood is a universal experience that transcends boundaries, yet it is undeniably a journey fraught with challenges, even before children are born. The mere achievement of a healthy parental figure is a blessing, given the multitude of complications that can arise during pregnancy.
Many of us may not have fully appreciated the nagging reminders to keep our rooms tidy, but those gentle nudges served a greater purpose – to instill in us the discipline to fend off the inevitable invasion of dust bunnies. Had we not learned to tackle such seemingly trivial responsibilities, navigating the complexities of the adult world would have been an insurmountable feat. This day presents an opportune moment to express our gratitude to our first teachers and nurturers, the ones who guided us through our formative years.
