AHAN. Aik Hunar Aik Nagar (AHAN) is working as nonprofit company under the ministry of industries and production, Government of Pakistan (GOP) The concept of AHAN is based on OVOP (One Village One Product) model prevalent in Japan, Thailand and other for eastern countries. AHAN takes various initiatives for rural micro and small enterprise modernization, leading to creation and diversification of sustainable income earning opportunities. Through such initiatives AHAN provides support to poor producer groups, craft persons and artisans by facilitating them in product development, quality assurance, marketing and technological Up-Gradation. Aik Hunar Aik Nagar (AHAN) in collaboration with (SUBAH Quetta) implemented the project of Carpet, engaging the expert Hazara Community in carpet weaving skill. Carpet weavers were made part of the project consisting of 15 men and 30 women. Using the natural dyes, 150 Meter produced in selected new designs with change in Colours schemes. The project helped the community to learn about the new Colours schemes in Chobbi designs, and links are developed with new buyers.(Chobbi carpets / rugs are traditionally from the border region of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The “Chobbi” is Persian word apply for “Colours like Wood”).
